Introducing Hapax
The professional standalone sequencer.
The heart of your setup. Hapax brings together every tool you need to craft ideas in the studio and deliver flawless performances on stage. From vintage analog classics to modern digital synths, from modular rigs to your favorite DAW, Hapax sequences, synchronizes, and elevates your entire ecosystem — all with tools meticulously designed to unlock creativity.

The MIDI Powerhouse
Up to a million notes and events
16 tracks per project, 16 patterns per track. Thanks to its dual–processor architecture, Hapax can record and transform tremendous amounts of data in no time, without a hitch. With 16 tracks per project and 16 patterns per track, Hapax handles your most ambitious compositions. Its dual–processor architecture records, transforms, and evolves your data instantly, without latency.

Express Yourself
Full MPE compatibility.
Hapax is the first hardware sequencer to offer complete support for MIDI Polyphonic Expression recording. Capture every nuance, every slide, bend, gesture, and articulation, exactly as you perform your MPE external keyboard.

Around the Clock Performance
Dual–project architecture.
Compose in one project while performing another. Load, edit, or transform in real time without stopping the music. With two fully independent projects running side by side and simultaneously, Hapax enables endless sets and seamless transitions.
Dawless is More
Hapax integrates effortlessly into any setup, with broad, flexible connectivity tailored for modern hybrid workflows.

Adaptive Workflow
Multiple ways to create.
Write melodies with polyphonic or MPE tracks, using the advanced step sequencer to sketch ideas or refine live takes with surgical precision.
Build beats using a single track to control up to eight instruments. The dedicated drum sequencer makes rhythm writing immediate, playful, and inspiring.

Real–Time MIDI Effects
Bring your synths to life.
Hapax features a suite of real-time, polyphonic, non-destructive MIDI effects, enhanced by project-wide assignable LFOs. Every parameter is automatable and fully routable through the modMatrix, unlocking complex, evolving modulation, without ever altering your original performance.

Powerful Composition Tools
AlgorithmsTransform and generate notes effortlessly. Harmonically invert a motif, shuffle notes, create controlled-random melodies, or gradually ramp up velocities — all with a single press of the Algo button. Powerful tools, always at your fingertips.

Harmony, SimplifiedBuild chords fast and intuitively. Chord Live Mode brings harmonic capabilities to anyone, with or without formal theory. Its colorful interface creates a synesthetic experience of hearing, vision, and touch, making chord exploration immediate and inspiring.
Hi–Res RecordingHit record and capture performances from Hapax’s encoders, 128-pad matrix, external MIDI instruments (including MPE controllers), or any incoming analog signal, at 192 ppqn resolution. Looper-style recording, countdown, metronome, and punch-in modes let you tailor the workflow exactly to your needs.

Fluid EditingHardware should enhance creativity, not get in the way. With undo/redo, an extensive history lets you travel back in time. Snapshots save the state of a pattern for instant recall, and dedicated copy, paste, and delete buttons complete a comprehensive editing toolbox. Everything you need for quick, precise workflow.

Time ElasticityEach track has its own elasticity, allowing playback speed adjustment as a percentage of BPM. Double or halve speeds instantly, or create subtle, drifting phasing effects between tracks — perfect for dynamic grooves and evolving textures.
Four Modes to Explore

Simple by Design
Trimmed to perfection.
We reimagined Hapax from the ground up, deconstructing everything we knew about sequencing. The result is a high-end instrument built around dual ARM processors for uncompromising performance, housed in a rugged yet refined minimalist chassis.
Because making music should always feel effortless, we chose dedicated controls over complex key combinations, and shaped a clear, intuitive interface supported by a streamlined architecture. While we designed Hapax to minimize reliance on screens during live performance, its dual grayscale displays offer just the r ight amount of visual feedback when composing in the studio.
